This week (March 3rd – 9th) is National Professional Pet Sitters week. In honor of all our hard working pet sitters we are highlighting each one in an effort to give them their own day to shine.
Today’s highlight goes to Melissa Lindsey!
Melissa has been with Play Time Pet Care for over a year. She is fearless when it comes to working with animals. After all, she is also a groomer. It is safe to say she has experienced it all…even getting bit by a cat! Melissa has an extensive background in volunteering at shelters, caring for a variety of animals including horses.
Melissa has a beautiful little girl at home that is her pride and joy. I should qualify that statement by saying she is a human little girl 🙂 She also has several dogs of her own and even fostered one of our client’s dogs because he was moving to Hawaii and didn’t think little Buttons could handle the strict quarantine rules. She gave Buttons a wonderful life until the end. Buttons was an old mini Schnauzer who had limited time in this world when Melissa agreed to take her in.
Due to Melissa’s extensive experience with handling pets in various scenarios I have all the confidence in the world in her ability to handle even the toughest pet. She does great with shy and fearful dogs, as a matter of fact, she loves to groom the “trouble” dogs. It seems they sense her calmness and tend to settle in quickly with her.
Melissa is a blessing to have as a part of our team. Her day job as a groomer limits her to daily visits and the occasional overnight, but we love her! If you recognize Melissa as your primary pet sitter, leave a kind word below to show her how much you appreciate her and all she does for you.
This week (March 3rd – 9th) is National Professional Pet Sitters week. In honor of all our FABULOUS pet sitters we are highlighting each one in an effort to give them a day to shine.
Today’s highlight goes to Starla Clark!
Starla has been with Play Time Pet Care for over a year. Her extensive background as a vet tech is invaluable to our team. She has since “retired”, however, I would NEVER put Starla in the typical retired category. She is full of life and vigor and LOVES our client’s pets. She goes above and beyond to ensure each pet is happy, healthy and properly cared for.
Starla does quite a bit of travel between her home in North Mesa and her “other” home in Washington. We tease her because she will occasional book a one way ticket and we are all afraid she won’t come back 🙂 However, we all know she couldn’t live without her husband and three dogs, so we KNOW she is always coming back 🙂
Starla’s attention to detail makes her the perfect pet sitter for the concerned pet parent. Starla’s daily updates put her client’s at ease in no time. She has been known to leave little thank you cards behind for her first time clients. Her care and concern for the health and safety of our client’s pets makes if very easy to assign her to most any client.
Starla is a blessing to have as a part of our team (I know…I know, I’ve said that about everyone…BUT IT’S TRUE). If you recognize Starla as your primary pet sitter, leave her a kind word below to show her how much you appreciate all her hard work and unconditional love.
In honor of our FABULOUS pet sitters I thought I would highlight each one of them by giving them their own day to shine.
Today’s pet sitter highlight goes to Tami Ramey!
Tami has been with Play Time Pet Care the longest. She works tirelessly to ensure her client’s pets are well taken care of and loved. Her attention to detail is impeccable. Needless to say, I feel confident in assigning her to the most demanding clients 🙂
Tami has a long history of working with pets. She worked as a receptionist at a Vet’s office for several years, rescued countless pets and helped re-home them. Her most recent accomplishments include continuing education in Canine Reiki and Canine Massage. Of course she is also trained in Pet CPR & First Aid….you never know when that will come in handy. She shared a story with me shortly after she finished her CPR classes, which put her new found skills to use. She was providing overnight pet sitting services for one of our clients and one of the dogs started choking on a chew toy. She was able to safely remove the choking hazard and calm the client’s dog down after such a frightful experience.
Tami works with a calm, quiet demeanor. She understands dog body language and is a master at working with shy and fearful dogs. Her at home living situation offers her the ability to provide live in, overnight, dog walking and daily pet sitting services. There are times when Tami doesn’t sleep in her own bed for weeks on end. She feels like she is on vacation when she gets to spend time with our client’s pets.
Tami truly is a blessing to me and our clients! If you recognize her as your primary pet sitter, leave her a nice comment below to show her how much you care about the great service she provides.
